Plots Explained

Satoru Mikami serves as a 37-year-old business worker who lives in Tokyo. He is practically pleased with his boring existence, despite the fact that he doesn't have any sort of girlfriend. During a casual interaction with his colleague, an attacker appears out of nowhere and stabs him. While suffering from his injuries, a mysterious voice echoes in his thoughts and says a sequence of instructions that he cannot understand.

After returning to awareness, Satoru realises he has been reincarnated as a Slime on an unfamiliar planet. At the same time, he learns new capabilities, particularly the power known as "Predator," which allows him to consume anything and duplicate its form and capabilities. He finds Veldora, a strong 'Storm Dragon' who has been imprisoned for 300 years for demolishing a village. Feeling sorry for him, Satoru befriends the dragon and promises to help him with breaking the seal. They decide to exchange names. Veldora gives him the name Rimuru and receives the name Tempest in return. Rimuru then consumes the dragon and his captivity in order to investigate the spell within it and eventually rescue Veldora.

The absence of Veldora's aura leads to a power vacuum, leading Rimuru to become the leader of all beings within the Great Forest of Jura, who acknowledge him as the ruler and together they establish the nation of Tempest. With Rimuru's power, knowledge, and idealistic vision, the new nation soon gains strength and influence. Rimuru and his people soon attract the attention of adjacent foreign powers, ranging from kings and legendary heroes to demon lords, some of which wish to be their ally, whereas others seek to capitalise on or destroy them entirely.
